Guangzhou Baiyun Station is one of the largest train station hubs in Asia, with a total area of about 68,000 square meters. The station features a symmetrical layout with 14 high-rise towers to the north and south, accommodating offices, commercial spaces, hotels, and more.

The station includes an elevated waiting area, platform level, exit level, subway transfer level, and subway platform level.

The main station building showcases the Lingnan architectural style with a design inspired by “Cloud Mountain, Pearl Water, and Kapok Blossom.” Advanced design concepts and building technologies are extensively used. Each outward-extending “petal” of the station echoes Guangzhou’s city flower, the kapok, representing the city’s identity and green ecology. The “kapok petals” are made using advanced, eco-friendly PTFE membrane structures, giving the station a unique, elegant, and grand appearance.
