The Guangzhou Hongcheng Plaza ETFE  tensile membrane structure, is located in the core area of Guangzhou’s new Central Business District. Covering a total area of 110,000 square meters, the project is a complex integrating retail, transit-oriented development, and public green space design.

      The 9,800-square-meter double carp “fish scale” feature uses single-layer ETFE membrane structures, providing eco-friendly functions such as rainwater collection and natural lighting, creating a layered and undulating green landscape.

       From above, the ETFE membrane roof, supported by stainless steel shells, resembles two swimming carps, symbolizing peace, harmony, and prosperity. The twin fish-shaped buildings encircle a central garden and are connected by pedestrian bridges. The roof is supported by large tree-like columns, and the garden space extends the landscape elements into the interior of the buildings. Most of the project’s space is underground, preserving the surface environment to create a new Central Park.
